Is it possible to add my own, manually created, footnotes alongside my zotero citations? I want to use footnotes to add explanation without citing a source.
I am using Word for Mac 2011
Many Thanks
- edited December 10, 2013Footnotes created by Zotero are just regular Word footnotes, so there is absolutely no problem mixing them with manually created footnotes - just use Word's insert footnote function.
- edited May 26, 2016I just commented on that issue in https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/58996/jurism-footnotes-without-citation/#Comment_254562.
However, if I understand correctly, the style in use must produce footnotes, unlike ACS styles which produce endnotes.
Is that correct?
I believe my problem is also covered at https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/21582/using-note-to-include-noncitation-items-in-bibliography-for-sciencemag/, which means that there is no formal solution in sight, just workarounds.

I've tried paths like: '/usr/lib/libc.a' or '/usr/lib/libm.a', but there are no such files on the system. Could you tell me where to find it? however, is on Macs. When Editorial sends their manuscript files to
Production, the endnotes are displaying with Roman numerals. The same file
shows Arabic numerals on the PC but has turned mysteriously to Arabic on the
Macs.
I can change the numbering style by just clicking on the first endnote
reference and using the pop-up that appears to apply an Arabic style, but is
there anyway to change the default setting so that that happens
automatically?
Probably this is just a weird Mac/PC compatibility issue that can't actually
be 'fixed,' but I'm not sure, so I thought I'd ask. Any suggestions would be
appreciated.

- Ken wonders if it is possible to change the default numbering format for endnotes from lowercase Roman numerals (i, ii, etc.) to uppercase Roman numerals (I, II, etc.). While this can be done manually in the Insert Endnote dialog box, that takes several steps and a change to the default would be much easier and faster.
- WORD: Changing endnotes from roman numerals to arabic numbers I just got a new MAC with Word installed, and I discovered I no longer have a small icon at the bottom-right corner of the Footnote Group on the References tab of the ribbon.
- Endnotes give you a way to reference material in your document without affecting the layout of each page, since all the notes are placed at the end of the document. Word numbers endnotes in lowercase Roman numerals, and footnotes are numbered with Arabic numerals. Go to where you want to insert the endnote or footnote.
